Chat with Men Who Write Romance

June 29th, 2008 by misterseo

Realms of Love hosts their weekly romance writer chat with Jasper McCutcheon and William Maltese Monday June 30 at 9 PM EDT.

William Maltese has been publishing heterosexual romances (over 200 total books presently to his credit), since his very first, BOB, CARL, TED AND ALICE as William J. Lambert III, back in 1971. With follow-up heterosexual romance literature: THEIR HUSBANDS ARE AT WAR, POP ‘N’  SWAP, SEX LAB, ABDUCTED DAUGHTER, THE GANG-RAVISHED TEACHER, AN INCESTUOUS STEPMOTHER, LESSONS FOR MOTHER, THE INCESTUOUS STEPFATHER, FACULTY WIFE, THE DOCTOR’S UNORTHODOX PRACTICE, THE JAMAICAN TRADERS, INCESTUOUS SUMMER, SEX INTRIGUE, THE SIXTY-NINERS, THE GRAY FLANNEL  SWAP, and STARSHIP INTERCOURSE (just to name a few).

It’ll be three specific heterosexual romance novels by Maltese, though, which the author will likely concentrate on during his Monday-night chat with Realms of Love. LOVE’S EMERALD FLAME , FROM THIS BELOVED HOUR  and LOVE’S GOLDEN SPELL

Jasper McCutcheon is the author of three books and creator of the audio erotica series, Uncle Jasper’s Five-fingered Bedtime Stories, which are free-to-listen mp3 files found at his nephew’s web site, http://www.jardonnserotictales.com

His book covers and storyline blurbs can also be found at Jardonn’s Erotic Tales. In order of publication they are:

Maggie Pie - Bud Richter has too many irons in the fire. He drives an 18-wheeler nationwide. He entertains ladies waiting for him in the towns to which he travels. He supports his kids financially and emotionally, while gradually rebuilding the relationship he destroyed with Julie, his ex-wife and mother of his children. An unexpected visit from his Viet Nam-era Navy buddy throws in a few more irons, as this man’s mysterious disappearance makes Bud a suspect and participant in an FBI investigation. Worse, it rekindles a home-town, multi-generational feud between Germans and non-Germans dating back to World War I. Follow Bud as he tries to keep his family protected from the chaos while helping the Feds figure out who’s truly reponsible for the hate crime perpetrated against his Navy pal.

I Was Tortured By the Pygmy Love Queen - Written in the style of the men’s pulp magazines from the 1940’s and 50’s, this is the tale of Henry Mitchell, WWII Navy pilot who’s forced to bail out of his fighter plane. He parachutes to a Pacific island, where he is greeted by a tribe of pygmies and their cruel leader — a white, female Westerner, a Christian missionary gone bad. She knows nothing of the global conflict taking place, and believing Captain Mitchell to be a spy who’s come to steal the treasure she’s found on the island, she orders her robotic pygmies to strip and bind him for interrogation. But perhaps her brainwashing of the little people was not as thorough as she thought. One of the pygmies, a female, becomes enraptured with Henry Mitchell’s strength and resolve under torture. With one ally, Mitchell has a chance. Can the true Queen of the Pygmies save him from a lifetime of pain and bondage?

Go Ahead, Woman. Do Your Worst - Five short stories of lustfully cruel women versus strong and defiant men. Heroes in chains, these men are put into one hopeless situation after another. From a medieval dungeon to the wilds of Africa to a modern-day doctor’s office, each man deals with punishments and erotic torments by maintaining their masculine resolve. No sissifications or emasculations here. These men will never be defeated, a lesson their antagonists are soon to learn.

Jenny Braden weaves her tale of loss and love that proves nothing can stop the course of true love-not cultural differences, not a cavalry, not even a canyon possessed by the devil. When Jenny falls under the spell of Miakoda, the daughter of the legendary Apache chief Cochise, she is forever lost in the power of Miakoda’s Apache eyes.

Lady Sun Has Risen In a world where high culture and barbarian nomads clash, the educated believe magic to be a myth-but sometimes the gods still take a hand in human affairs. And when the gods meddle during the erotically charged Spring Equinox festival, lust can turn to love against all logic.

Miryea, a female physician from the Soranian Empire, thinks her interest in sexy, infuriating half-nomad Adimir is a case of opposites attracting. Nothing serious could come of their attraction, but a fling with Adimir sounds like the perfect way to celebrate Spring Equinox, when wild sex spurs the new growing season.

Adimir has no problem with this plan.

Especially since he’s already figured out Miryea’s just the kind of woman he likes-a strong woman who melts for spanking and rough-and-tumble foreplay.

But Lady Sun and the Lord of Grain, the eternally committed, eternally contentious divine lovers whose passionate reunion marks the beginning of spring, have their own plans for Miryea and Adimir. And gods and goddesses get what they want, even if it takes a slave raid, acts of heroism, and a display of sex-magic the likes which hasn’t been seen in Sorania in decades.

Laura Baumbach and Jay Lygon Chat Monday

Chat with Laura Baumbach and Jay Lygon

Laura Baumbach and Jay Lygon chat with you Monday, February 4. These two fine ManLove authors have releases coming soon and we want to know about them! Stop by the Realms of Love Chat Castle at 9 PM EST for an hour of fun chat with Laura and Jay and the rest of the ManLove authors that wander in.

Laura Baumbach is an award-winning author of erotic romance and fiction. Named best M/M writer of 2006, she captured 3 Top Ten Preditors & Editors spots in 3 different categories for 2006 and her scifi adventure romance is nominated for an EPPIE award for best GLBT novel of 2006. Her favorite genre to work in is manlove or gay erotic romances. Manlove is not traditional gay fiction, but erotic romances written specifically for the romantic-minded reader, male or female. Author of numerous novels, screenplays, and short stoies including Alyson Books’ Ultimate Gay Erotica 2007, Laura has also written erotic stories for several magazines.

BLOOD CLAIM #2 in the vampire BLOOD series. This volume features a trio of M/M tales from three of the genre’s hottest authors.
Winner Takes All by Laura Baumbach — Two vampires face off in a deadly bet that has the winner claiming everything the loser owns–including the loser’s innocent, unaware human offspring.
Gift of the Raven by Angela Fiddler — Cory has always been mercurial; passionate one second and frozen the next, but when he was hot, he was scorching. Luke had brought him up as a vampire but couldn’t keep him the first time around. But now evil’s come on an arctic wind, and they’ll need each other to fight it.
Wolfe’s Recluse by Jet Mykles — Can Wolfe lure Matt out of his apartment for the first time in two years? Is the gorgeous Wolfe temptation enough for Matt to overcome his fear of vampires?

Jay Lygon has published over 30 short stories, which can be found in Myths, Blue Collar, and Torqued Tales by Torquere Press. Jay’s m/m BDSM novels, Chaos Magic and Love Runes, will be out in print in May, 2008. Chaos Magic is currently available as an e-book through Torquere Press. Other stories can be found in Inside Him, and on Clean Sheets and the Erotica Readers and Writer’s Association websites. Contact Jay at JayLygonWrites.com.

Jay will tell us about Love Runes, his upcoming release from Torquere Press. Sam and Hector’s relationship has always been difficult, but Hector decides he’s had enough when he finds out that Sam has been paying Eternal Youth to keep him looking, and acting, immature.

This time, we get to see Sam’s parent’s farm in Oklahoma. My editor on Chaos Magic was from Oklahoma, and she asked me why, of all the places in the world, I had Sam come from there. I lived 2 years in central Oklahoma, not the South Eastern part of the state. We traveled through the South East part though on our way to visit family in Georgia and Florida, and I remember falling in love with it. (Much the way I think of Tennessee - an incredibly beautiful state). Oklahoma was a great place to be a kid, and no one ever has their characters be from there, so I thought I’d show my temporary home state a little love.

We’ll have time to learn more about Chaos Magic too. Sam is a broken young man, searching for temporary escape from his demons–inside and out. Running from abusive ex-lover Marcus, the God of Fear, Sam finds himself in the arms of the hottest man to step foot into his life: Hector.
Hector proves to be the Daddy Sam needs and wants, but the road is a very rocky and often terrifying one. As Marcus digs his claws deeper into Sam, it threatens to tear everything Sam and Hector have built together apart.

Sonja Foust Tackles Racial Issues in Romantic Fantasy Love In Shadow

June 24th, 2007 by misterseo

Author Sonja Foust Tackles Racial Issues in Short Romantic Fantasy ‘Love In Shadow’

Not just a short read that will leave you with a warm feeling; “Love In Shadow” tackles the larger issue of prejudice within its sweet romantic plot. Sonja Foust, who resides in Durham, North Carolina—home of the now infamous Duke Lacrosse case—steps away from the real world to illuminate prejudice in a less complicated fantasy world.

The Duke Lacrosse case pitted three white Duke Lacrosse players against a black exotic dancer from neighboring historically black NC Central University. “The fantasy setting gives a little bit of distance from the actual situations and lets you think about the issues themselves without all the baggage from the specifics. It’s a great vehicle for expanding your universe to include ideas you might not have thought of if they hadn’t been presented in such a clean, unattached way,” says Foust.

Sonja Foust, a UNC Chapel Hill alumna with a degree in English, has been an aspiring author for almost three years. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA) as well as the Heart of Carolina Romance Writers local Raleigh chapter of RWA. “Love In Shadow” is Foust’s first published work.

Realms of Love - Historical Romance Writer Chat Monday

April 29th, 2007 by misterseo

Realms of Love will host an historical romance author chat Monday April 30 at 9 PM EDT. There will be give-aways of downloads of the author’s books.

Historical Romance Authors from Wild Rose Press will chat with you! Marty Kindall, Tarah Scott and Devon Matthews will join Lucynda Storey in the Realms of Love Chat Castle.

Here’s a little bit about these authors:

Marty Kindall- Vintage Rose (1920-1970 historical)

Marty is a native Buckeye who now considers North Carolina her home. An overactive imagination has been getting the better of her from an early age. She wrote her first ‘novel’ at age ten, and has been juggling her creative side with school, career, and other pursuits ever since. By day, Marty is a mild-mannered college administrator and history professor. By night, she lives the adventurous lives of her characters.

Tarah Scott- English Tea Rose (Non-American historical)

Award winning published author Tarah Scott cut her teeth on authors such as, Georgette Heyer, Zane Grey and Amanda Quick. She writes classical romance, suspense, horror and mainstream. She is assistant director of the advanced writer’s group Paper, Candlelight and Quill, and leads Word Zone, a weekly advanced critique group, as well as participates in, Creative Heights, an intense critique group.

Devon Matthews- Cactus Rose (western historical)

From my earliest memories, I’ve been fascinated with all things western. My first cases of hero worship were aimed at Audie Murphy and John Wayne, and I never did get past them. As a young woman, I traveled much of the southwest and saw the breathtaking vistas that had inspired such awe in the old western movies from my childhood. Though Texas claimed me for several years, I now live in the picturesque foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with my husband and two children. My passion for the west and those dashing sagebrush heroes remains as strong as ever. I write about those characters and their times because I can’t imagine doing anything else. I hope you enjoy reading about my heroes and heroines of the old west as much as I loved writing about them.

The romance writer chats at Realms of Love are a great way for readers and writers to get together and discuss romance stories in a variety of genres.
